When my wife was rushed into the ICU, I was told she had just a 3% chance to live. The room spun. The floor disappeared.
I remember the beeping of machines, the whispers in the hallway, and the ache in my chest every time I tried to take a breath. I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t think. And every ring of the phone made my heart stop — was this the call I dreaded most?
By God’s grace, she survived. But those 12 days left a permanent mark on me.
That’s why I created ICU Hope — so that no spouse, no parent, no son or daughter ever has to go through the ICU waiting room alone, confused, and unprepared.
